“The Wake’s interiors looks amazing and the views are incredible. It’s perfect for a brunch or an indulgent dinner. The menu features classics like clam chowder and steak, with a notable raw bar and signature desserts. The chocolate mousse alone is worth the visit!”

The Wake Overview

At the aft of every Virgin Voyages ship, stands The Wake — a two-story homage to the classic transatlantic ocean liners and a nod to old steakhouse, martini-lunch era of Madison Avenue ad men.

It’s the crown jewel of dining experiences aboard, where sailors can indulge in a premium selection of steaks and the fresh seafood.

While most menu items are part of the all-inclusive Virgin Voyages fare, The Wake also offers a selection of experience-enhancing premium items for an additional cost. These include aged Tomahawk steak and a raw bar boasting luxurious selections, from lobster to seafood platters, ensuring that there’s an opulent option for those special nights at sea.

Service and Atmosphere

Type of Service

The Wake is a classic steak and seafood restaurant, and one of the most luxurious experiences on board a Virgin Voyages cruise. It offers a unique dining experience that is sure to please any foodie. The atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated, with a nautical theme that adds to the overall ambiance. The service is impeccable, with attentive waitstaff that are always on hand to offer menu and wine recommendations.

Dress Code

Virgin Voyage’s dress code is “whatever makes you feel like the best version of yourself.” While they don’t enforce any type of dress code (ever!), The Wake’s upscale steakhouse atmosphere so you may want to make an effort. Resort casual for brunch and either resort casual or cocktail attire for dinner seems appropriate.

Ambiance

You know you’re about to embark on a special journey when you enter The Wake. The Wake takes inspiration from the nostalgia of classic ocean liners, with a grand staircase leading to the dining room and incredible views of “the wake” (see what they did there?).
